Today was World Clubfoot Day. We started our morning with a 7am drive to get to Nairobi at 8:15am. The morning started off with a clubfoot clinic with several doctors from around Kenya. The team got the opportunity to shadow many doctors and assist them.
Once the appointments were done, the team got to spend time with some of the kids that were at the clinic. In addition to kids that are currently getting clubfoot treatment, several children that had finished treatment came to share their stories.
After some fun with balloons and bubbles, the main program of the day started. This portion included various speakers ranging from doctors, health officials, representative from Hope Walks and CURE, and parents of kids who had finished clubfoot treatment. Brittney was also represented our team and talked about the partnership between CURE Kijabe and the Collaboratory during the program. The purpose of the program was to celebrate the good work that is being done to treat clubfoot in Kenya and encourage the parents of children currently undergoing treatment.

Once the speaking portion was done, the team handed out snacks to the kids and parents. We had the opportunity to take photos with some of the clinicians and families. Jacob had an interview with the local news station and talked about World Clubfoot Day.
On the way back from Nairobi, we stopped an overlook of the Great Rift Valley. The team took some pictures and bought some souvenirs from local shops.
We had a fantastic day at the World Clubfoot Day celebration. Tomorrow we are going on a safari in Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

Usiku mwema (good night)!
