Yesterday (I'm currently writing this the day after since we returned late last night) we went to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The team left the CURE Guesthouse around 6am in order to start the five hour drive up to Ol Pejeta. On the way, we got to pass Mount Kenya, which is the second highest mountain in Africa after Kilimanjaro.

During the morning portion of our safari, we drove around the conservancy and to to see baboons, elephants, zebras, and rhinos.

We even got the opportunity to meet Baraka, who is a black rhino that is blind in both eyes. The conservancy rangers said that Baraka lost sight in one of his eyes from fighting another rhino and getting cataracts in the other. The rangers let us take photos and pet Baraka before we went to lunch.

For lunch, we stopped by Sweetwaters, a camping site right next to the conservancy, for a buffet of Kenyan food.

After lunch, we drove around more of the conservancy and got to visit and cross the equator.

After some more team photos, we headed back to the CURE Guesthouse and arrived late at night. The safari was a wonderful experience and we got to see many interesting animals during our visit.

The trip back was long but we had an excellent driver, named Peter, who got us all back safely!
